Black Sage Displays a New Anti-Drone Defense System in Idaho
News about the usefulness of drones spreads like wildfire in today’s news. Some people purchase drones for entertainment and useful business applications, while others only have mischief in mind. Unauthorized drones have been a big problem in many US cities and now several companies are developing ways to defeat and bring down these drones. One of these organizations is Black Sage.
Black Sage is an anti-drone tech company based in Boise, Idaho. They developed a counter unmanned aerial vehicle, which can be used as a defense system against unauthorized drones. The company will be presenting the system before the governor of Idaho, Butch Otter, and the state’s legislative body. This will take place at the geofence area that protects the city of Boise on February 21st at 3:30 p.M. Black Sage’s counter unmanned aerial vehicle defense system will be tested against a swarm of thrones.
Dave Romero, a partner are Black Sage stated that the company’s approach is a flexible technique that can be used anywhere to detect and defeat unauthorized drones. He also stated that the defense system uses several radio frequencies, thermal cameras, radars, and non-kinetic technologies for its detection process. By employing these innovative methods, Black Sage’s system can protect the airspace and safely bring down any threat created by an unauthorized drone.
This is not the first anti-drone technology that Blacks Sage has presented to the public. Last year, they exhibited an anti-drone system in Paris at the largest air show. This time around, Black Sage has to impress politicians with the demonstration and this may be a bit trickier. Governor Butch Otter agrees that drones are here to stay. He believes that they could be used for good as well as bad. The technology offered by Blacks Sage will help combat the use of drones in dangerous hands.
It is a promising new defense system that can protect communities and residents from the threat of weaponized UAVs. Managing partner at Black Sage, Ross Lamm stated that the team worked tirelessly with just one mission: to create a system that can keep the nation safe. He appreciated the support of the governor of Idaho for giving the company a chance to show what his anti-drone defense system can do. When displayed in a public setting, it will show people that they are not powerless to the activities of dangerous drone operators.
