Marvel Franchise Releases Drone
Young and old alike have fallen in love with the Marvel film franchise. With a network of 22 films, and surely more to come, the films and it’s characters are some of the most popular of the super hero genre ever. With the release of Avengers: Endgame in April 2019, the film broke box office records by bringing in $2.79 billion world wide and becoming the highest grossing film ever (a ranking previously held by James Cameron’s Avatar). Even though this film was also one of the most expensive films ever made, it’s safe to say that both Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios made back their investment and more. With the billions of dollars the film itself made, the studios are making even more on merchandising products.
You can buy anything from clothing to toys, school supplies, art work, hygiene products, snacks and more showcasing your favorite Marvel superheros. And now you can even get an official Marvel Licensed drone. Made by World Tech Toys, these drones are the perfect fit for a beginner drone operator or someone who just wants to play around with a drone. Made by a toy company, this drone is more of a toy compared to some of the advanced drones made by top drone manufacturers.
The drone is a square bodied quadrocopter with a sturdy foam body. It’s light weigh foam body with rounded corners prevents damage to the drone, property, and bystanders in the event of a crash. It’s dimensions are 22″ X 22.5″ X 3″ and it comes with four spare rotors, and a wall charger. The controller is a 2.4GHz radio transmitter with 4 channels that allows you to fly with total ease and little interference. It can fly forwards and backwards, up and down, and even do a 360 degree flip. The drone also has controllable LED lights that you can program. But of course the main attraction is the design on the top of the drone.
This drone comes decorated with the colors and symbols of you choice of three Marvel superheros. The choices are Spider-Man, Iron-Man, or Captain America. All three styles retail for around $185. If that is still out of your budget there are smaller options. They also make what they call a Marvel UFO Ball Helicopter drone. This is more of a toy for children, but age is relative, and costs around $10. It is a ball that weighs 4.2oz and fits in the palm of your hand. It has 2 sets of rotors that sprout out of the top and uses a USB charger to recharge. The drone uses Advanced Infrared Hover Sensor Technology to hover above your hand as you move about. The ball of the drone is decorated with a graphic of the mask or logo of any number of the Marvel superheros.
Both drones only run for about 10-12 minutes and take a bit of time to recharge. They also do not come with a camera, and would probably not be able to support a camera attachment. So if you want to get into drone photography or be able to see what your drone is seeing, these aren’t the drones for you. But if you are looking for a great gift for a Marvel fan, or just beginning to learn how to fly a drone it’s a great starting point.
