Rotor Riot Brave F7 is a Drone Controller that is Secure, Affordable, and Made in the USA
A drone needs to be operated by a remote controller. Nearly all drones come with a controller made specifically for them, while more advanced drone systems come with advanced controllers. Some drones can be easily operated by an app downloaded to a smartphone or tablet. Another option is to custom-build a controller, which is a popular choice for drone hobbyists. Specialized drone controllers are also available. In July 2024, Rotor Riot announced that they would be launching a new drone controller that is NDAA compliant.
NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) compliance for drones falls under the jurisdiction of the Department of Defense’s Blue UAS List. These Blue Drones are those that have met the rigorous standards necessary to be used by the United States Federal Government. The primary requirement for being on the Blue UAS List is to prove that the drone and its accompanying equipment are secure from data breaches or unauthorized transmissions.
When the DOD first introduced the Blue UAS List in 2020, only 10 drones were approved. Today, there are at least 20 drones on the list from 14 different drone companies, with numbers expected to grow as the U.S. drone industry continues to expand. Rotor Riot is one of the latest companies to be added to the list, demonstrating that their new remote controller will meet the highest standards for drone use.
Based in Orlando, FL, Rotor Riot was founded in 2015 by Chad Kapper. The company specializes in bespoke FPV (First Person View) drones and a complete set of accessories to accommodate them. In February 2024, Rotor Riot was acquired by drone technology developer Unusual Machines, based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, for an undisclosed amount. The controller, which will be available for preorder throughout August 2024 and is proudly made in the United States, is called the Rotor Riot Brave F7 Flight Controller.

Built to perform and endure, the Rotor Riot Brave F7 Flight Controller is your go-to for an outstanding FPV experience.” Weighing only 8 grams and measuring 37mm x 37mm, the Brave F7 is comfortable to hold and naturally controlled with simple hand directions. Retailing for less than $60, the controller is an affordable and reliable addition for any FPV drone aficionado. However, as part of a launch promotion, the Brave F7 will be available through August 15, 2024, for less than $50.
